The legend of this exquisite beverage goes back several centuries ago, no one really knows with certainty, but the land of Tequila tells that the Indian people of Jalisco took refuge in a cave as a result of a terrible thunderstorm which fell in a field of agaves. Some lightning fell into the heart of these plants burning them, which caused by the cooking of starches, to degenerate into a type of honey.
The moment the storm passed the wind took towards the inhabitants of that place a pleasant smell, one of them noted that it came from the burnt agave, so he took a piece and tried it out, it tasted so sweet and rich that he offered it to the others, they had discovered the utility of the plant!
Eventually one of these natives of Jalisco noted that of those burnt Agave sprang a juice, in which flowed small bubbles forming a foam white and thick foam, and he decided to taste it. In doing so he found a rich and different taste. He then separated the liquid from the foam for its consumption.
The native people immersed in the agave honeys, understood it as a gift from the goddess of fertility Mayahuel, as the beverage came to provoke a revolution and because of its delicacy, it was a beverage just for hierarchs and priests in religious events and during important feasts.
At the arrival of the Spaniards, Moctezuma II offered a banquet with the agave drink to Hernán Cortés, who they believed was the god Quetzalcoatl. During the event the Spaniards, considering the beverage excellent, decided to distill and purify it in order to get a stronger product, which resulted with the birth of the spirit.
During the 17th and 18th centuries, the Spaniards encouraged the production of the agave and laid the groundwork for the elaboration of tequila, as we know it today.
Thus, with the passage of time, interest and fondness for tequila have been phenomenal; this delicate and seductive distillate of Jalisco has found its way to a true revolution.
The Tequila industry has been through lots of developments, improving day by day its production techniques, increasing crop fields for the Blue Agave Tequilana Webber plant, and producing an exquisite range of tequilas, making this beverage a gift from the indigenous gods to the world.

Back in the mid 1990's tequila was finding its way through a more discerning public; its fresh and flavorful personality was increasingly captivating sophisticated, well-educated consumers that found in this spirit an interesting alternative to their usual drinks.
Tequila, however, was not evolving as fast as its audience was. The quality of most tequilas in the market was, at the most, good enough to qualify for international standards, yet terribly far from what it could achieve when made with real passion and a deep knowledge of agave and tequila.
Juan Carlos Arav, founder and president of Tequila REVOLUCION, noticing the crave of the market for a really premium, world-class tequila, decided to craft a product that would pay a dignifying homage to the agave plant and to the tradition and legend that surrounds this historical spirit, a liquid that can be aged as long as desired while still preserving the flavor and personality of the Blue Tequilana Webber Agave.
In 1995, Tequila REVOLUCION Reposado was launched: a distillate that combined ancient production techniques with an unparalleled compromise towards perfection; Juan Carlos, decided to make a long-lasting difference in the tequila world, included a series of improvements in the process that only a man with a true passion for tequila could conceive. From planting and caring our own agave plants, to only using barrels that have contained tequila for at least 20 years, Tequila REVOLUCION has set a new standard on what premium tequila should be.
Later on, the rest of the REVOLUCION line came to light: Silver, Añejo, 100 Proof and Extra Añejo, each one performing outstandingly in international competitions, and immediately winning the hearts of tequila aficionados and connoisseurs.
